At the heart of these shifting dynamics are employees. Employee experience is critical to business success, and organizations need to consider every touchpoint to ensure employees feel more informed, valued and engaged.
The increasing number of “deskless” and distributed workers is forcing organizations to rethink how they communicate with employees. Employees expect their employers to interact with them in the same way they interact with others in their personal lives—in near real-time, on mobile, and via other channels they already use on a daily basis. With this shift in preferences and the need to keep workforces aligned to business goals, companies are investing in tools and methods to effectively reach and engage all employees, at the right time and with the right message.
So, in this new climate, what can organizations do to improve employee engagement and reach? Here are three must-dos based on new data from SocialChorus’ “2018 Comms Effectiveness Survey,” with data from more than 1.5 million employee end users worldwide, including their engagement with mobile apps, emails and push notifications, and survey results from 840 employees.
DO maximize your mobile strategy. According to the research, two-thirds of workers found their company app easier and faster than other content sources, such as their intranet, email and printed materials. Mobile apps are a great way for organizations to meet employees where they already are and maintain direct communication. Push notifications also proved useful, with 66 percent of iOS users opting in to receive notifications from their employee apps, significantly higher than the 40 percent industry average of people who opt in to receive push notifications generally from all kinds of apps....
