Congratulations to John Finney, Todd Hattori and Stacy Wilson on being inducted into the 2018 Class of Fellows!
The 2018 class of Fellows
The IABC Fellow designation is the highest honor bestowed on an IABC member. Becoming a Fellow denotes a body of achievement by a communicator who has had a significant impact not only on their organization and IABC, but also on the communication profession at large.
Only 88 of the world’s top leaders have earned this superlative designation. It is considered by IABC to be the lifetime achievement award for the industry. The Fellows committee made the selection from a competitive field of applicants and nominated three immensely talented Fellows.
John began his IABC career in 1985 with the London, Ontario, chapter, where he filled many board positions, including chapter president. He went on to become director of Canada District Two, with chapters in eastern Canada and one in the Caribbean. John served as the IABC Chair in 1997–1998 and over the past 20 years has served on IABC’s Ethics Committee and as a Gold Quill Awards judge. His professional career includes serving as director of corporate communications for two healthcare organizations and as a senior communication and change management consultant with Willis Towers Watson, a global human resources firm.
Todd “Tosh” Hattori, ABC
As an organizational performance consultant for PeopleFirm, LLC, Todd “Tosh” Hattori, ABC, applies his 20-plus years as a communication professional to help leadership teams address business challenges with their people in mind. In his spare time, he serves as a volunteer director for the Technology Access Foundation, a nonprofit leader in providing science, technology, engineering, and math (STEM) education to students of color, and improving teacher diversity and retention of teachers of color in Washington state. Todd joined IABC in 1994, which launched his journey through chapter, region, and international leadership roles, including serving as IABC Chair in 2007–2008.
Stacy Wilson, ABC
After 10 years in nonprofit communication, Stacy L. Wilson, ABC, needed a new cause. Employees filled the gap when she began focusing exclusively on internal communication. As president of Eloquor Consulting Inc. since 2001, Stacy has counseled many global organizations. She specializes in leveraging technology to improve communication and collaboration, including strategy, governance, usability, content and adoption. Companies with many non-desk employees—her clients include University Hospitals of Cleveland, Pitney Bowes, Newmont Mining and ConocoPhillips—are another specialty. Stacy enjoys biking, hiking, sewing and music. Married for 30-plus years, she has two amazing kids. Connect with Stacy on LinkedIn or Twitter.
